The Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program provides opportunities for K-12 teachers to participate in direct one-to-one exchanges of positions with colleagues from other countries for a semester or academic year. By living and working in the cultures of their host countries, exchange teachers gain an understanding and appreciation of the similarities and differences in national cultures and education systems. Fulbrighters enrich their schools and communities with a new awareness of other cultures and of events occurring in different parts of the world, providing students and citizens with new perspectives about the world in which they live. The deadline for applying to the Fulbright Classroom Teacher Exchange Program is October 15th. For questions, please contact fulbrightcte@aed.org.
The deadline for Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching is January 15, 2010. For questions, please contact fulbrightdat@aed.org. Please visit www.fulbrightteacherexchange.org for application forms and more information on both programs. Posted on Friday, September 18, 2009
